The series So Long consists of images taken in empty apartments in Me’onot Ovdim Alef (Workers Dormitories) on Mazeh street, Tel Aviv – a historic compound built in 1933 by architect Arieh Sharon. The complex was built in the International Style, according to the European cooperative model for workers housing, which sought to implement socialist and modernist principles. In 2021, the tenants were evacuated from their homes for restoration and conservation of the building. Vladimirsky photographed the apartments shortly after they were vacated. By combining images from different apartments, she made 3D collages featuring fantastic spaces, all of them marked by parting and longing. These spaces bring her own story, a chronicle of frequent moves and searching, together with the story of other people and their homes.

* Special thanks to the residents of Me'onot Ovdim Aleph who took part in the project and allowed photography in their homes.
